Cox Orange (Not In Season)

The Cox Orange variety is highly regarded among dessert apples, even being called the finest dessert apple. This historic apple is most often used for fresh eating with it's balanced sweet and tart tastes. However, the apple also includes underlying hints of other fruit flavours such as pear and melon. Although not as common, these apples can be used for cider and canning purposes. Generally, this variety pairs better with fresh preparations or uses that allow for larger chunks such as with meats.
